Lunchtime Forums: What makes a good city? Series 3

We are continuing looking at the issues where faith and civic or public life overlap. We start with an exploration of the balance between personal charity and state welfare, continue to look at the interface between welfare and crime and then look at the ethics of poverty and welfare.
As usual our speaker’s theme after their address will be considered by a respondent, and then open discussion.
The Forums meet from 12 noon to 1.30 pm on monthly Wednesdays in UTU’s library area in the basement of Victoria Hall Methodist Church, Sheffield (entrance in Chapel Walk). Bring your own packed lunch. Tea and coffee will be available. People of Christian faith, other faiths or none are all welcome. These Forum sessions are open to all and free of charge.
