The women’s caucus
Online four times a year
The Women’s Caucas is not another thing to do, but is a place to be. We are seeking to be a safe space, a supportive space for one another as women. And in this way nurture insight and creativity which we can take back into our daily professional and other lives.
We also can as necessary, and as we wish, together challenge and ask questions of our colleagues in UTU and other places – to remember the importance of equality and equity in organisational dealings and decisions.
Join us. We aim to meet four times a year, then by arrangement or for special events as we wish.
Free.
The disability caucus
Online – dates/times tba
Issues around disability are becoming more fractious within the UK currently. The proposed changes to PIP and the Assisted Dying Bill are making people with disabilities feel more vulnerable than before.
The Caucus aims to be an online welcoming space for lay and ordained people with disabilities working or worshipping in urban places, to share the particularities of being disabled in a church context – swap ideas, thoughts, solutions and have a laugh together, and explore liberationist Disability Theology. It may choose to challenge UTU or the churches as to how well they accommodate those with disabilities.
This is an embryo group and so the timings and frequency of meetings are yet to be sorted.
Free. Register your interest in being part of such a group.
