The Urban Theology Union supports radical Christians, who are passionate about living and working in the grittier urban communities of the UK. We deliver courses, events and interest groups, all generated by the energy and vision of our members.
Hello my name is Rob Hoch-Yidokodiltona and I am the Director of Theological Studies for the Urban Theology Union. This is how we self-describe today. UTU exists to promote the Kingdom of God for the community of learning focused on radical contextuality, analysis, theological reflection and action.
For all levels of student we offer a certificate level course. The purpose of the certificate is four-fold:
Our book-writing group is a great opportunity for those of us who have a burning idea but also benefit from the support of a group of experienced writers who can help us think about our writing and keep us focused on a discipline that gets us to a complete manuscript. We will talk with you about options for publication as well as sharing strategies for marketing your work.
We offer regular Podcasts with noted leaders in mission, theology and in the public square. These have included Bishop Laurie Green, former member, a former MP and Home Secretary David Blunkett, a young member of Baltimore City Council, a birth activist, asylum advocates in Blackburn and inner city ministries in Sheffield and Birmingham.
