UTU Urban Theology Seminar

Tuesday 10 February from 10.30 am to 12 noon on Zoom

By building on the momentum of the longstanding UTU Doctoral Seminar, this new gathering offers an opportunity for us to share our research, reflections and ruminations on urban theology and missional practice.

We have had some great ideas for future seminars, and this is an exciting opportunity to decide what we will discuss going forward into 2026.

Our second seminar, is led by Terry Drummond.

Urban Mission and Ministry – recovering a vision.

The aim will be to outline how urban mission and theology have been lost in the Church of England’s concern to challenge perceptions of decline and an emphasis on managerial approaches to ministry. whilst I’m concerned with one denomination, I suspect that the issues are similar across the ecumenical divide.

A key element is the recovery of theological analysis linked to the practical action which is a key element of local contextual urban mission and ministry.

Open to all. £5 or £10 per session or £40 for the year.

Please go to our Charities Aid Foundation Page to pay.

PhD

We no longer run our own PhD programme but we link closely with the University of York St John through the Luther King Theological College. The emphasis on the Programme is still that of lived, rather than theoretical theology, reflecting on your work, life or church context and sharing the learning from it.

If you want to explore whether a PhD is for you, please email Rob Hoch-Yidokodiltona.
