Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare. Jeremiah 29:7

We are continuing looking at the issues where faith and civic or public life overlap.

We started with an exploration of the balance between personal charity and state welfare, continue with this session to look at the interface between welfare and crime and then in our third summer forum, will look at the ethics of poverty and welfare.

As usual our speaker’s theme after their address will be considered by a respondent, followed by open discussion.

People of Christian faith, other faiths or none are all welcome.
