Urban Theology UNIT

Our site is accessible by lift and ramp and is open for you to drop-in on Mondays between 10 am and 4 pm and by appointment at other times.

Library and Bookshop

We have WiFi for our visitors and our members can borrow books from our extensive library. We stock a good range of journals, periodicals, newsletters, and of course a uniquely comprehensive library of theology and radical Christian theology. Our team of experienced and Guild-qualified librarians would be happy to induct new members and students by appointment. The latest publications by staff and members are also available to buy at the unit.

Teaching Space

We also have a great teaching space for one to one meetings, small groups and groups of up to forty people. This is available to hire. There are many eating places and sandwich shops in the City centre.  Hot drinks can be made in the kitchen adjacent to the teaching suite.

Location

Access via the Chapel Walk entrance (to the left when facing the front of the building, opposite the stage entrance to The Crucible Theatre and the NCP car park).  Come through the main door walk straight ahead and use the lift to the lower ground floor and follow the signs. Victoria Hall Methodist Church has no parking of its own but there is an NCP car park opposite.  Otherwise, park outside the city centre and take the bus or tram in.  Buses to High Street or Arundel Gate or Church Street.  Tram to High Street or Cathedral.  Then proceed to Fargate at the junction of High Street/Church Street and turn left into Chapel Walk opposite Greggs.  If travelling by train, walk straight up towards Sheffield Hallam University and The Millennium Gallery turn right and follow the road round to Arundel Gate Interchange, turn left and the church, and Chapel Walk, is on your right.
